Officials hand out dry ice, water to those without power

Con Edison handed out dry ice and water to frustrated residents in Mount Kisco, Yorktown and Mamaroneck today.

According to utility officials, as of 5 p.m., there were more than 100,000 customers without power in Westchester and Putnam counties and another 50,000 without power in Orange and Rockland counties.

Con Ed says some homes may not have power until late this week thanks to all the downed trees that have to be removed and power lines that have to be restrung.

Many say the lack of power is really just an inconvenience and that they are glad that their family is safe.
