Yorktown family powering neighbors' homes with extension cords

With thousands of residents still without power across the region, one Yorktown family is helping by sharing extension cords with several neighbors. The McManus family has set up a generator behind their home on Larkspur Street, and is stretching wires across the street. They are supplying power for themselves and nearby households. "We hooked up their refrigerators and one guy needed a pump running so his basement didn't flood," Kathryn McManus said. "It's my husband just doing the neighborly thing." The family says they plan on helping their neighbors until the power returns. The community has been without power since the weekend.
