Friends, family say goodbye to Ossining man killed in crash

Friends and family gathered today to say a final farewell to an Ossining man who was killed in a high-speed crash on Sunday.

Police say 27-year-old Travis Clark and a friend were killed when his car slammed into a sign post on I-87. They say Clark was speeding on the New York State Thruway just south of the Cross County Parkway in Yonkers when he lost control of his Honda Accord. Clark died at the scene of the accident.

Clark's passenger, 20-year-old Jillisa McCarthy, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where she later died.

Those who knew Clark say they will always remember him by how he lived, not how he died.

A wake for McCarthy is set for later this evening.
