2 firefighters injured, 2 families homeless after Mt. Vernon fire

Two firefighters were injured in an early morning fire that left two families without a home in Mount Vernon.

Smoke and flames went through the roof of the home located at 324 Tecumseh Ave. The house was severely damaged, and no one is expected to be moving back inside.

The fire broke out around 5:45 a.m., moving quickly through the house.

Investigators believe it was an electrical fire.

No one living inside was hurt, and the Red Cross is helping the families.
