5 schools in Yonkers offer free breakfast and lunch

School may be over, but the Yonkers Public School District doesn?t want any child to miss out on nutrition.

This summer, the district is offering free breakfast and lunch at five schools.

Last year 300 children participated in the program every day at three schools. The need is expected to be greater this year, so two more schools were added.

The program is funded by a USDA federal grant. Breakfast and lunch is available for children and teens 18 years old and younger, no questions asked.
