Pre-K program in Yonkers in jeopardy
The pre-K program in the Yonkers public schools could be in jeopardy once again this fall.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo vetoed a bill that would have allowed school districts like Yonkers to borrow money to pay for teachers' pensions.
Yonkers wanted to use nearly $5 million and shift the money to restore a half day pre-kindergarten program.
The school district spokeswoman says they will continue to look for other money sources to save pre-K.
