WC, HV hospital visits increasing during latest heat wave
Hospitals across the region are reporting a spike in emergency room visits during the summer's latest heat wave. In Nyack, hospital representatives have reported "significant increases" in the number of residents treated for heat-related illnesses. High ozone levels have also triggered an air-quality health advisory for most of Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
Town officials in Clarkstown are advising residents to use the town's three pools, and have also opened up four cooling centers for the week.List of Hudson Valley cooling centers
