Ex-dean of New Rochelle school pleads guilty to sex act with boy

The former dean of a New Rochelle middleschool has pleaded guilty to a criminal sex act with a 14-year-oldboy. Under terms of Wednesday's plea, 38-year-old Jose Martinez, ofBrentwood, will be sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years ofprobation. He must register as a sex offender. Prosecutors said Martinez was administrative dean of Isaac E.Young Middle School when he engaged in misconductwith the boy in 2010. He was later promoted to principal at anelementary school but resigned just before being arrested in March. At the time, the schools superintendent said Martinez passed acriminal fingerprinting check before he was hired in 2007. He saidthere was no record of complaints from students or staff.AP wire services contributed to this report
