NYPD: Brooklyn boy in Rockland before slaying
The NYPD has confirmed that slain Brooklyn boy Leiby Kletzky was in Rockland County on the day he was killed.
According to investigators, Levi Aron brought the 8-year-old to a wedding he attended in New Square, but they don't believe Kletzky was taken inside during the event.
Officials say surveillance video at a Sunoco station on the Palisades Parkway in New Jersey also gave police clues that the two made their way to the Hudson Valley before returning to Brooklyn.
The young Hasidic boy had been on his way home from summer camp July 11 when police say he asked Aron for directions. Prosecutors say Aron has been indicted on eight counts of kidnapping and murder after he abducted the boy and then smothered and dismembered his body.
Kletzky's family is now working to turn their grief into positive action. They've set up a website to raise money for needy children.
