Wrong-way crash leaves 1 dead, 2 critical
? One man was killed and two others are in critical condition after a deadly wrong-way crash in Westchester overnight.
The crash happened about a half-mile south of the New Rochelle toll plaza on I-95.
Police say at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, 26-year-old Tanisha Gomez drove at least six miles in the wrong direction along I-95 south, when she crashed her minivan head-on into another vehicle.
The passenger of the other car, 29-year-old Reginald Lee, from East Orange, N.J., was pronounced dead at Sound Shore Medical Center. The driver, Mark Toppin, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with severe injuries.
Police say it's not known whether Gomez was under the influence at the time of the crash as they await the results of her toxicology report.
Authorities say criminal charges against Gomez are pending. She underwent surgery for internal injuries.
