Flames engulf 2 apartment buildings in Yonkers

Fire officials are investigating a blaze that engulfed two Yonkers apartment buildings this morning.

They say the three-alarm fire broke out just before 8:30 a.m. in the basement of 43 Linden St., and quickly spread to the adjacent building at 41 Linden St.

Some tenants say they were still sleeping when the fire started and ran out for their own safety.

Officials say no one appears to have been injured in the blaze.
