Harry Potter inspires local kids to give

The final adventure for Harry Potter and his friends has inspired a little magic in Bedford Hills.

In the book series, author J.K. Rowling created her magical world with its own magical sport played on flying brooms called Quidditch.

Fans of the books and movies were inspired to make a "real-life" version of the game and created international competitions with established rules.

Locally, an exhibition game was held yesterday pitting teams made up of local high school and college students familiar with the game.

The Bedford Hills Blast-Ended Skrewts squared off against the Mount Kisco Manticores at the Bedford Hills Elementary School field yesterday afternoon.

Proceeds from the event went to the Bedford Hills Library.
