Police identify Yonkers fatal shooting victim

Yonkers police are searching for suspects in a shooting that left a Mount Vernon man dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

According to authorities, 28-year-old Carlos Patricio, of Mount Vernon, was shot and killed at around 12:30 a.m. this morning on Lawrence Street, near Bruce Avenue.

Witnesses say Patricio and about 30 other people were celebrating a friend's birthday when the shots were fired. According to witnesses, the gunfire seemed to come from the other end of the block near Saratoga Avenue.

Officials say Patricio suffered a single gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they're following leads and are asking for the public's help in the case. Anyone with information is urged to call Yonkers detectives at 914-377-7724 or 914-377-7725.
