3 accused in Yonkers chain-snatching incident

Three Yonkers men are in police custody and facing felony charges in connection with a chain-snatching incident in the Getty Square area..

The trio of 20-year-olds were arrested after eyewitnesses saw one of them punching a 66-year-old man in the chest. Witnesses say the group ripped a gold chain, valued at $3,500 from his neck.

Kevon Allen, Jameek Brown, and Andre Salvato, all of Yonkers, were arrested. The victim was not seriously injured.

Detectives say that with the price of gold at an all time high, these types of crimes are happening more often.

Police are urging any other victims of "chain-snatching crimes" to come forward.
