Companies chip in to provide mattresses for charity

Tempurpedic, the United Way and Furniture Warehouse in White Plains teamed up today to donate more than 100 mattresses to some local families in need.

The Manning family, of White Plains, received new mattresses for their family of six, which had been sharing old mattresses. Cassandra Manning said that they couldn't have asked for anything more than "to be able to have a good night's sleep and not waking up with pain."

Some 106 mattresses were given away in all. For information on how to help with the donations, click here.
