Neighbors save house from being engulfed by fire

A Dobbs Ferry house was damaged by flames today when a fire broke out on the back porch, but officials say it could have been much worse.

Firefighters say the flames could have gone through the siding and engulfed the whole building, but neighbor Rick Kamke and off-duty firefighter Dennis Roth took action before the fire department arrived.

Roth, who lives nearby, was able to get into the burning house and save Ace, the family pet.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the Corrindina family, and its pet, are now being allowed back inside.
