Yorktown supervisor accused of defamation

The Yorktown town supervisor is being sued for defamation of character by two town employees who say she spread false rumors that the pair was having an affair.

Highway Superintendent Eric DiBartolo says Yorktown Supervisor Susan Siegel told a Yorktown Central School District employee that he and another town employee, Patti Cole, were having a sexual relationship. Siegel is accused of making the same accusation in front of other town personnel.

In the lawsuit, DiBartolo and Cole, who are both married, say they've suffered public shame and irreparable damage to their reputations because of the rumors.

The filing does not mention what DiBartolo or Cole are seeking in terms of monetary damages.
