Harrison H.S. named top Westchester school for college prep

Harrison High School has been ranked as the top school in Westchester for preparing students for college, also making the Washington Post?s nationwide list at No. 71.

The study, called the Challenge Index, ranks schools based on how committed the schools are to preparing students for college. The study takes the number of Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs offered at the schools in 2010 and divides the total by the number of graduates.

Harrison does not hand-pick the students who can take AP classes, which means every student has an equal chance at success.

Other Westchester schools that made the nationwide list include Rye High School at No. 106 and Bronxville High School at No. 113.
