Police probe suspicious letter delivered to New Rochelle home

Police in New Rochelle are investigating a suspicious letter that was delivered to a home on Cherry Law Boulevard this weekend.

Police say the letter said "you're dead" and contained a white powder inside the envelope.

The letter, addressed to the son of the homeowners, who does not live there any longer, was delivered on Friday, but only opened yesterday.

Hazmat crews determined the white powder was merely baking soda.

Investigators are now turning their attention toward whoever sent the letter, saying the sender could face criminal charges.
