South Salem wolf center gets 2 new puppies

South Salem's Wolf Conservation Center has taken in a pair of gray wolf puppies to help spread awareness to the plight of the animal.

Zephyr and Alawa, 7-week-old gray wolves, will join the center's education team, which visits schools, museums and nature centers. The gray wolf was taken off the endangered species list last month.

The pups are the first to be added to the team in nine years. They are currently on view at the wolf center.
