Vigil held for college student from Scarsdale who went missing

Friends and family gathered today at Lauren Spierer's synagogue to pray for her safe return after she went missing in Indiana.

Spierer, a graduate of Edgemont High School, was a sophomore at Indiana University.

She was last seen walking home to her apartment from a bar at around 4:30 a.m.

Police say they located her shoes at the bar and her keys on the street.

Officials in Indiana say they do suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Her parents, Robert and Charlene Spierer have flown out to Indiana to assist in the search.

"We're not going to give up," said Robert Spierer, in a statement made to media members in Indiana.

Adding to the concern is Spierer's medical needs. She takes daily medication for a heart condition and without it, her health may begin to deteriorate.
