Police: Man recording kids in Port Chester attacked officer

A Connecticut man is accused of attacking a police officer who confronted him for secretly recording children at a Port Chester park.

Robert Berwick was arrested Sunday.

According to authorities, Berwick was hiding in the bushes at Lyon Park when an off-duty officer spotted him. Berwick allegedly lunged at the off-duty officer and struck him with his camera after being confronted.

Robert Berwick is charged with assault and has been released from jail. He is due back in court Thursday.

Berwick was also caught recording women and couples in 2001, according to police.
