Yonkers senior housing-complex renovations causing headaches

After six months, residents at Flynn Manor Senior Housing facility say they are sick and tired of putting up with the renovations.

Residents say that during the renovations, they have had to put up with rodents, asbestos and constant disruptions.

Officials say that renovations take time, especially in an older building.

The renovations include removing the old radiators and replacing them with a geo-thermal heating system that will reduce costs. However, the renovations have been releasing asbestos.

Municipal Housing Director Joseph Shuldiner says that for residents' safety, they have been relocated to a hotel while the asbestos removal takes place.

The renovations are expected to be completed by October, but the residents say that time can't come soon enough.
