Family of missing Edgemont student pleads for information
The family of a missing Westchester college student appeared on NBC's "Today" show this morning and made another desperate plea to try and find their daughter.
The 20-year-old Indiana University sophomore disappeared June 3 after she was partying with friends at a local bar.
Police say they are focusing on surveillance video, zeroing in a car passing by during the timeframe Lauren Spierer vanished.
Authorities are also investigating the possibility she may have overdosed on cocaine or some combination of drugs and alcohol, and her friends then panicked and disposed of her body.
Police say they have received cooperation from those they have interviewed so far.
Indiana University has also made a financial donation to help fund the search for Lauren.
Spierer's father asked, "We ask you to please let her go. Let her come home. We love her, she's our baby and we want to get her back."
