Christ the King in Yonkers closes its doors for good

It's a sad day for kids at Christ the King Elementary in Yonkers as the school is forced to close its doors for good.

Usually the last day of school is filled with excitement as summer vacation starts. However, as parents gathered to pick up their children for the last time, many had tears in their eyes thinking about the memories they have shared.

Christ the King is one of eight Catholic elementary schools in Westchester that are closing as enrollment is dropping and costs are on the rise.
