White Plains man indicted in Mamaroneck woman's murder

A 55-year-old man who was pulled overin New York City has been charged with killing the Mamaroneck womanwhose SUV he was driving. The Westchester County District Attorney's office says Reginald Powell, of White Plains, has been indicted on murder, burglary and othercharges. Powell was arrested Dec. 30 after authorities say he made anillegal left turn in Manhattan. Police said they found stolenjewelry in the SUV, which belonged to Jennifer Katz. Two hours later, Katz was found dead at her home. The49-year-old woman was a divorced mother of two. Police said Powell and Katz knew each other. Powell spent 24 years in prison for a 1982 killing.
