Distracted driver may be to blame in fatal crash

A distracted driver may be to blame for a deadly car accident in northern Westchester.

The head-on crash happened yesterday afternoon on Route 100 between Quaker Church Road and Route 134. Officials say one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were seriously hurt and remain in the hospital.

Police say that a Nissan sedan was heading north on Route 100 around 2:30 p.m. when the driver crossed the double yellow lines and hit a Honda that was going south.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
