Yonkers loses historic bathhouse

One of the old public bathhouses in Yonkers is being torn down.

City officials announced they were going to demolish the building late last year.

Built in 1925, parts of the building were modernized in 1961. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The building has not been used in years and was in disrepair, with parts of the façade falling onto the sidewalk.

City officials still don?t know what they will do with the site once the building is gone.
