Yonkers grads celebrate their accomplishments

Adorned with caps and gowns, many Yonkers High School students eagerly awaited their diplomas, during graduation ceremonies held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

Family and friends celebrated their graduates? accomplishments.

Yet, with Yonkers? schools facing major budget cuts and hundreds of teacher layoffs, many people had some mixed emotions.

Parents with children still in Yonkers public schools say that it?s sad the city is spending money elsewhere and not on the education.
