Truck spills potatoes onto Hutchinson River Parkway

A tractor-trailer carrying potatoes hit an overpass on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Scarsdale early this morning, spilling potatoes along the parkway.

The top of it ripped off, leaving truck parts along the shoulder of the parkway.

The truck was carrying 48,000 pounds of the potatoes, but not all of them spilled onto the roadway.

The potatoes had to be taken off the truck and lined up on the side of the road.

The accident caused delays for the morning commute.
