Narcy Novack, brother charged in killing of Ben Novack's mother
A Florida woman accused of arrangingher husband's killing at the Rye Town Hilton has now been charged withdirecting the killing of her mother-in-law two months earlier. An updated federal indictment announced Tuesday alleges thatNarcy Novack, of Fort Lauderdale, and her brother arranged an April2009 attack on 87-year-old Bernice Novack that resulted in herdeath. Bernice Novack's death in Fort Lauderdale was originally ruledan accident, but was reclassified a homicide after Narcy Novack'sarrest in the death of her husband. Ben Novack Jr. was found beaten to death in July 2009 at theHilton hotel where his company had organized an Amway convention. He was the son of thebuilder of the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach, Fla.
Novack's attorney, Howard Tanner, issued a statement saying that while the indictment was expected, his client will continue to assert her innocence in connection with the deaths of her husband and mother-in-law.
