Yonkers woman convicted of burglarizing dead man's home

A Yonkers woman has been convicted of burglarizing the home of a Congers man who had died just hours earlier in a motorcycle crash in July.

Paula Izurieta was convicted by a Supreme Court jury of taking items such as televisions, clothing and computers during the theft. Izurieta and alleged co-conspirator Ivan Murat were arrested last July for breaking into the home of a mutual acquaintance who had died. Izurieta was also charged with drug possession after an incident last June in which Mount Vernon firefighter James Drago was found to have somehow fallen off a boat in the Long Island Sound. Izurieta faces up to 30 years in prison on her most recent conviction.
