DA 'pleased' by 2nd murder indictment against Narcy Novack
Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said today that she is "pleased" by the second murder indictment against Narcy Novack and her brother in the killing of her mother-in-law, adding that it was a long time coming.
Bernice Novack was originally found dead in her Fort Lauderdale, Fla. home in April 2009. Her death was originally classified as accidental. The death was reinvestigated after her son, Ben Novack, Jr. was killed at the Rye Town Hilton in July 2009, and later classified as a homicide.
Federal prosecutors say that Narcy Novack arranged both killings in an attempt to inherit millions of dollars.
Ben Novack, Jr. was the heir to the famed Fountianbleu Hotel in Miami, Fla.
Novack and her brother, Cristobal Veliz, are expected to be arraigned in federal court in White Plains on Friday.
