Lawrence Taylor ruled a low-risk sex offender
A judge in New City has ruled that former New York Giants star Lawrence Taylor is a Level 1, or low-risk, sex offender, after his conviction for having sex with a 16-year-old prostitute.
Taylor, who was not in court today, will now have to register for 20 years as a sex offender, but will not have his photo placed in a sex offender database.
Prosecutors had argued that Taylor should be designated a Level 2, or medium-risk, sex offender, but the judge said that the facts best fit with the Level 1 designation.
"This chapter of [Taylor's] life is closed." His attorney, Arthur Aidala, said. "A new one opens and he goes on to bigger and better things."
