Suspicious package sent to state Sen. Ball's Albany office
State police in Albany say hazmat teams responded to the office of state Sen. Greg Ball (R-Carmel) this afternoon after a suspicious package was sent to his office.
A package containing a stuffed Curious George doll, a vial of an unidentified substance and a threatening note were discovered in Ball's office earlier today. Sources tell News 12 that the note contained a message that said something to the extent of "death to all those who don't believe in Allah." Several representations of the Star of David were also found in the package.
Police say the alleged sender was identified as Jameela Barnette of Marietta, Ga., who in online postings, considers herself a "messenger of Allah." Police however caution that the identity may not be for real.
Ball recently garnered national attention after he called a hearing in Manhattan on national security last week that some Muslim activist groups called fear mongering, and a direct attack on people of the Muslim faith.
