WC boy from Guatemala in need of kidney

A Bedford family is desperately seeking kidney donors for their son, an 11-year-old boy from Guatemala who was born with extremely small kidneys that never fully developed.

Carlos Newman was adopted as an infant, and his parents never knew about his medical condition. Now, Carlos is suffering from chronic kidney failure as a result of his condition, and is in desparate need of a replacement.

Greg Newman, Carlos' father, says the family is reaching out to any and everyone in the hopes of finding a match. "That's all we need so he can live a normal life," Newman said.

Anyone interested in helping is asked to call Maria Marcogliese at (914) 469-2594, or e-mail riamarco@gmail.com.
