Cop who fatally shot Danroy Henry named 'Officer of the Year'

The Pleasantville Police Benevolent Association has honored officer Aaron Hess, the officer who officials say fatally shot Pace University student Danroy Henry, with its "Officer of the Year" award.

Police say Hess fatally shot the football player after Henry drove at them with his car while intoxicated outside Finnegan's Grill last October in Thornwood.

Some residents in Pleasantville say they question the timing of the award, saying they feel the outcome of all of the cases should be resolved before announcing the award.

The family of Henry is pursuing litigation against police over their handling of the incident. The FBI is also investigating the case.
