Protest held in Pelham over taxes

Protesters gathered outside the Chase Bank on Fifth Avenue in Pelham over the fact that large corporations like J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and General Electric pay little or no taxes.

"If they paid their fair share of taxes," said Marjorie Morales. "Then we wouldn't have a budget crisis like we have today."

According to the New York Times, GE paid no corporate income taxes. In a statement, GE said it supplies thousands of jobs and has paid over a billion in other taxes this year.

Chase Bank declined to comment about the protest.
