Police: Wife breaks into home of husband's mistress with knife

Police have arrested a woman they say broke into the home of her husband's mistress with a knife in an apparent attempt to harm her on Saturday.

Authorities say Lizbeth Hernandez broke into the home in Peekskill with a butcher knife, duct tape, bleach and surgical gloves, and was hiding in the woman's closet waiting for her to arrive.

Police were tipped off about the break-in by neighbors who saw Hernandez entering the house through a window.

Investigators say that Hernandez's husband and his mistress were both out at the time of the incident.

Hernandez has been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
