NJ man admits abandoning daughter, killing her mom

(AP) - A New Jersey man has admittedstrangling his young daughter's mother last year and thenabandoning the girl at a Delaware gas station.

Dwayne Jackson faces a 30-year state prison term with no chancefor parole when he's sentenced May 19. The 26-year-old Edison manpleaded guilty Thursday to murder and child endangerment charges.

Middlesex County prosecutors say Jackson admitted strangling25-year-old Patricia Belizaire in her North Brunswick apartment onFeb. 21 while their then-20-month-old daughter was also home.

He drove the child to Newark, Del., where he left her in therestroom of a Shell service station. The crying child was foundunharmed.

Jackson then drove Belizaire's body to a park in Ramapo, N.Y.,and set it on fire.
