Yonkers women sues Yankees over logo
A Yonkers women filed a lawsuit against the New York Yankees, claiming that the legendary logo used by the team was created by her uncle decades ago.
Tanit Buday says the logo was stolen from her uncle, the late Kenneth Timur, by Jacob Ruppert, the Yankees' former owner in 1936.
The lawsuit claims that Ruppert asked Timur's sister to have her brother design a new logo for the team. Buday also claims that there were later requests for an updated design. Despite numerous requests, Timur was allegedly never paid.
