New national terror alert system unveiled

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano unveiled a new national terrorism advisory system this morning.

The new system is set to replace the old system that used colors to describe the threat of an attack.

Officials say the new system will be specific to the threat of an attack in a particular area, noting that critics of the old system were concerned with the lack of information given to the public.

The old system only reached the highest level once back in 2006, when a plot was discovered to blow up planes between the U.S. and Britain.
