Yonkers firefighters re-enact scaffolding rescue

The Yonkers firefighter who made a dramatic scaffolding collapse rescue in March was back at it again Wednesday with his fellow firefighters - this time as a re-enactment.

A French television crew is documenting the event that occurred on the 13th floor. The workers were stranded on a scaffold for hours. Michael Giroux, an 11-year veteran of the force, says on that night, there was no room for errors. He adds that the rescue would not have been possible without all of the training exercises and practice drills the firefighters do every day.

"I'm proud of what we accomplished, what we set out to do," Giroux says.
