Yonkers red light cams could bring in the green

Red light cameras are bringing in some green for the city of Yonkers.

The city hopes to raise $4 million to help its finances with the use of the cameras.

Many drivers complain that during these hard economic times, they just can't afford to pay the fine, which could be $50.

"Not everyone gets a ticket. If you don't run a red light, you won't get a ticket," says mayoral spokesman David Simpson.

The city says it only gets half of the fines paid; the other half goes to the red light company, until the system is completely paid for.
