WC faces redistricting as 2010 Census results come in

With the official 2010 Census results for Westchester County finally coming in, county leaders say that some redistricting could be in the works, although any changes are not expected to be significant.

The County Board of Legislators met yesterday to discuss the potential reshaping of legislative voting districts in Westchester. The board analyzed a proposed map of the changes, but noted that the map is not a final plan.

Legislative Board Chairman Ken Jenkins says that any changes to the legislative districts in Westchester will be minimal. "There were no major adjustments made in anyone's districts, and the average Westchester person will have the same legislative lines," Jenkins said.
