Grand jury to hear case of woman accused of hiding in closet

The case of an Orange County woman, allegedly captured by police while hiding in the closet of who she believed was her husband's girlfriend's closet with medical gloves, tape and a knife, will be heard by a grand jury. Peekskill police say they found Lizbeth Hernandez, 47, of Middletown, in the closet of a condominium last week, armed with a 12-inch knife, bleach, medical gloves and tape. Investigators say that Hernandez and her husband had a violent relationship, and that Hernandez was likely waiting to attack a woman who was allegedly dating Hernandez's husband. News 12 has learned that the other woman didn't know the man she was seeing was married.

Hernandez will appear before the grand jury on Friday.
