Westchester residents gearing up for royal wedding

Residents in Westchester and the Hudson Valley are abuzz with excitement over the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London this Friday.Last minute preparations are under way for what is arguably the biggest event in the U.K. since the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana nearly 30 years ago.The guest list for the royal wedding is said to include a throng of foreign dignitaries and celebrities like Elton John and David and Victoria Beckham. Those who were not so fortunate as to receive an invitation to attend the nuptials will be able to spot the bride and groom outside Buckingham Palace, where the procession to Westminster Abbey, the site of the wedding ceremony, will begin. In fact, a half-million spectators are expected to line the procession route. Some two billion people worldwide, including many in Westchester, are expected to watch the royal wedding live on TV, as well as on YouTube.
