Details emerge on 12 proposals for Rye Playland

Details about the 12 proposals submitted to help save Rye Playland have begun to emerge.

Most of the plans look to transform the property from a summer playground into an all-year-use facility through various means.

Some ideas for Playland include adding a concert venue, air dome for sporting events or an ice rink for hockey.

All of the proposals make changes to vary degrees, from minor tweaks to a major redesign of the park.

The biggest proposal submitted would replace the Kiddyland with a science and learning museum.

A county committee is expected to make a recommendation sometime this summer about the future of the park.
