HV cops probe burglary connection to 'James Bond' gang
Investigators in Orangetown are probing whether three men arrested on burglary charges in New Jersey, allegedly part of a criminal network called "The James Bond Gang," might also be responsible for a string of similar crimes in the area.
Police say the gang, which they refer to as "a loose affiliation of career criminals," usually commits burglaries in wealthy neighborhoods, and sometimes use rented luxury cars as getaway vehicles.
The three suspects were pulled over in New Jersey and arrested after police say they found tools usually used to commit burglaries in their car. One of the men, Jerry Montgomery, was recently arrested by Orangetown police on an unrelated charge and was released on bail.
Orangetown police are investigating the suspects' possible connection to some 10 burglaries in the area over the past year. Anyone with any information on the burglaries is being asked to call investigators at (845) 359-3700.
