Report: Father of Hudson Horror survivor wants custody

The father of the 10-year-old boy who managed to survive after his mother drove him and his siblings into the Hudson River, killing them all, is reportedly asking that his side of the family take care of his son until he is able to take full custody upon his release from prison.

Todd Johnson is the father of La'Shaun Armstrong, the only person to survive when his mother, LaShanda, drove her minivan into the Hudson River along with her children.

Johnson is currently serving a prison sentence at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility until at least 2012 after being convicted of robbery, but has asked that his sister, Shaquana, or his mother, Valerie, take over care of his son.

Johnson's son is currently in the care of his mother's relatives, who expressed concerns about the request. "You're in the penitentiary, and you're talking about custody? He has to be kidding me," Armstrong's aunt Angela Gilliam said.2 families keep distance at Hudson tragedy funeral
